Monday afternoon, as Israel prepared for its Memorial Day, a terrorist accelerated his car to hit pedestrians in central Jerusalem. 7 people were injured, one seriously; they received on-site first aid before being evacuated to the hospital. Afterwards, bystanders reported hearing gunshots, which were caused by an armed civilian who neutralized the attacker.

The attack occurred at the intersection between Kiach Street and Jaffa Street, near the light-rail train stop ha-Davidka. The terrorist was a middle-aged man from East Jerusalem who has no known criminal record but does have a history of mental health issues.
