Israel’s poverty rate has risen by 7% this past year. The National Insurance Institute released a report that since March 2020, the number of citizens living below the poverty line has increased, accompanied by a significant 4.4% decrease in the nation’s standard of living. The current drop in living standards in Israel is 23% worse than what the country endured in the economic crisis of 2008. A 23% drop in living standards means that the lower part of Israel’s middle class has fallen into poverty. Please continue to pray for the many Israelis who are struggling to survive financially. Please also pray that Israel’s economy will recover quickly in 2021.
