Israel is in the midst of its 5th COVID wave. The highly contagious Omicron variant is mainly responsible for the wave, but the Delta variant is also causing some infections. While the number of hospitalizations is rising, the ratio of seriously ill patients is down, much like in other countries. The government has decided to approach this wave differently than previous waves by not implementing any lockdown procedures, and letting the virus run its course (at least at this point). Most schools continue to operate frontally, but many children are either sick or isolating at home, so classrooms are quite empty. Please continue to pray for wisdom for Israeli officials in this current wave. Please also pray for full recovery for all infected persons. Lastly, please pray that Israelis will not grow weary, but will keep our heads up and eyes focused on the Lord for strength!
