Israel was elected for the first time to serve as a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) on Monday. Israel received 154 votes, more than two-thirds of the vote of UN member states. This means Israel will have a vote in the social and economic fields of the UN, which is a meaningful step for Israel. “This is an incredible achievement for Israel and comes despite the efforts of Palestinians and their supporters against us,” said Gilad Erdan, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations and the U.S. Please pray for wisdom for Ambassador Erdan as he works to bring a more balanced perspective to the UN. Please also pray for more nations to understand the importance of Israel and support the only democracy in the Middle East.
