Israel, Kosovo Normalize Ties

Israel and Kosovo’s foreign ministers established diplomatic relations in a virtual ceremony on Monday. This is an historic move, especially because Kosovo will open its embassy in Jerusalem. It is the first Muslim-majority nation to do so. To date, only the USA and Guatemala have opened embassies in Jerusalem. Kosovar Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti and U.S. State Department representative to the Balkan region, Matthew Palmer, also joined the ceremony. Israel’s Foreign Minister, Gabi Ashkenazi, said “Today, we are making history. We are establishing diplomatic relations between Israel and Kosovo – a moment that many have been waiting for…” Please pray for more diplomatic relations between Israel and Muslim-majority countries. Please also pray for wisdom for Israel’s governing officials as they seek peace in the Middle East.
