Winter storm Barbara blew into Israel Monday morning, bringing with it winds as strong as 70-100 kmph. Rain, and snow for Israel’s northern mountains, is expected through the end of the week, bringing chances of flooding. The storm has already caused some damage and injury as of Monday morning. In the town of Or Yehuda, a teenage girl was injured by a falling tree, and in Haifa, the high winds tore a water heater off the roof of an apartment building, leaving a gaping hole behind. Barbara is expected to peter out by Thursday.
On the upside, the storm is expected to bring rain, which Israel desperately needs!
Please pray for safety for Israel’s residents, especially those who need to travel during the storm. Please pray for storm preparedness on the part of the government and municipalities. Lastly, please pray for adequate rainfall!
