Hamas broke the extended ceasefire today in northern Gaza in two separate incidents where small fire and explosives were fired on IDF positions. Several IDF soldiers were slightly injured and the IDF fired back towards the sources of the aggression. Despite the Hamas-instigated clashes, it appears that the release of 10 additional hostages today will go ahead as planned.
51 Israeli hostages have now been released by Hamas as well as 23 foreign hostages in accordance with the original deal.
A prominent Palestinian figure seemed to hint at an impending Intifada (violent insurrection) today when he stated in a TV interview that “more severe violence” would occur next in Judea and Samaria. Israeli security forces continue to arrest wanted terrorists in Judea and Samaria; tensions between Arab and Jewish residents in the area remain high. Around 2,000 suspects have been arrested since the beginning of the war.
Anthony Blinken, US Secretary of State, is once again set to land in Israel in the coming days to discuss the ongoing ceasefire, Israel’s right to self-defense and the release of the hostages, according to his office. He will also meet with Palestinian representatives during his trip.
Please continue to pray for physical and emotional healing for the released hostages and their families. Please also pray for the release of ALL the hostages. Lastly, please pray that the conflict does not spread into other areas including Judea and Samaria.
