Amid the media hysteria over the judicial reform, other stories of note are often missed. One issue which emerged in the last half-year is the rising crime rates in Arab communities throughout Israel. The number of Arab-sector murders continues to rise, now standing at double the number compared to this time last year.

Sadly, women are often most hurt by this rise in violence. While the majority of those murdered are men, and the women murdered are usually tallied as “accidental” casualties of a conflict between men, Arab women report that they no longer feel safe in their communities.

Please pray for healing for those injured, comfort for families who have lost loved ones and for a return of community safety. Please pray for the prioritization of this issue and for a drop in Arab sector violence. Lastly, please pray for improved relations between the Arab sector and police.
