Pray with Us! – September 2026

Image
Shalom from Jerusalem,

September is a month of new beginnings in Israel. On September 1st, children return to school, bringing new routines and anticipation. Yet this year, many are returning after another summer shaped by war, uncertainty, and the continued absence of loved ones serving in the reserves.

September also marks the beginning of the biblical fall appointed times. On September 11, Israel will welcome the Feast of Trumpets, followed by the Day of Atonement and Feast of Tabernacles. Families will gather, synagogues will fill, and the shofar will sound as our people enter this significant season.

For Hope for Israel, it is also a meaningful time to serve. Through Operation Hesed, we are blessing hundreds of vulnerable families with grocery vouchers, while continuing to invest in believing youth, soldiers, and students, support communities rebuilding after the war, and share biblical truth about Israel worldwide.

As we enter this new school year and the biblical fall appointed times, we invite you to pray with us for the people of Israel. Please pray especially for our children and young people, for those defending our country, for families still carrying the effects of nearly three years of war, and that during this season many hearts throughout Israel would turn to the one and only true God.

PRAYER REQUESTS FOR ISRAEL
OPERATION LION’S ROAR

Israel continues to face security challenges on several fronts. Along the northern border, Hezbollah remains a significant threat as it attempts to maintain and rebuild its military capabilities in southern Lebanon. Israeli forces continue working to prevent the terrorist organization from reestablishing positions and infrastructure that could threaten communities in northern Israel.

In Gaza, Hamas and Islamic Jihad continue attempting to rebuild their capabilities and prepare for future attacks. In Judea and Samaria, Israeli security forces remain active in uncovering terrorist cells, weapons, and planned attacks while working to protect Israeli communities and civilians.

Syria has also become an increasingly important front. Israel continues to watch developments there closely, particularly the growing military relationship between Syria and Turkey. Recent Israeli strikes on a military airbase in northern Syria followed concerns about possible Turkish military activity at the site and have increased tensions between Israel and Turkey. At the same time, efforts are continuing to prevent these tensions from developing into a wider confrontation.

Iran also remains at the center of the broader regional threat. Despite the pressure it continues to face, the Iranian regime remains committed to strengthening its military capabilities and supporting terrorist organizations that threaten Israel and the wider region.

After nearly three years of war, the continued strain is being felt by soldiers, reservists, their families, and Israeli society as a whole. Many have served repeated periods of reserve duty, and families throughout the country continue living with the uncertainty that another escalation could come with little warning.

Please pray:

  • For God’s protection over the people of Israel and for every planned terrorist attack against Israel to be exposed and prevented.
  • For protection, strength, wisdom, and discernment for IDF soldiers, reservists, police officers, and security personnel serving throughout the country and along Israel’s borders.
  • For wisdom concerning the developing situation in Syria and the growing tensions between Israel and Turkey, and that decisions made by all sides would not lead to a wider regional conflict.
  • For soldiers and reservists who have carried the physical and emotional burdens of prolonged war, and for their families who continue carrying these burdens alongside them.
  • For wisdom and discernment for Israel’s political and military leaders as they make difficult decisions concerning Israel’s security and the threats on its borders.
  • That the efforts of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, Iran, and other hostile forces to rebuild their military capabilities or prepare future attacks would be exposed and prevented.
  • For innocent civilians throughout the region who continue to suffer because of war and terrorism, and for greater peace and stability for Israel and its neighbors.
DIVISION AMONG THE ISRAELI PEOPLE

As Israel moves closer to the national elections on October 27, political debate is becoming increasingly intense. After nearly three years of war, Israelis are approaching this election while carrying the weight of prolonged military service, economic pressures, security concerns, and difficult questions about the future of the country.

At the same time, the High Holy Days provide an important opportunity for families and communities to come together. During a season when disagreements can easily deepen existing divisions, we pray that the people of Israel will remember how much we share and that our differences will not become greater than our responsibility toward one another.

Please pray:

  • For God-fearing leaders who seek Him for wisdom, integrity, and discernment, and who desire to serve the people of Israel according to His purposes.
  • For the people of Israel as they prepare to vote on October 27, that they would have wisdom and discernment as they consider the choices before them.
  • For unity among Israelis during an increasingly intense election season, and that political disagreements would not deepen divisions within families, communities, and Israeli society.
  • For families carrying the burdens of reserve duty, financial pressure, and the continuing effects of nearly three years of war.
  • For the election process, that it would be conducted with integrity and that those elected would govern with wisdom and a genuine desire to serve the good of the people of Israel.
  • During the High Holy Days, that hearts throughout Israel would turn toward God and that this season would bring renewed faith, hope, and unity among our people.
ANTISEMITISM WORLDWIDE

Antisemitism continues to affect Jewish communities around the world, while Israelis traveling abroad are also increasingly facing hostility simply because they are Israeli. Jewish people are being targeted for openly expressing their identity, while Israelis have faced harassment and intimidation after being identified as Israeli, speaking Hebrew, or showing their connection to Israel.

As the High Holy Days approach, Jewish communities around the world will gather in synagogues to pray and celebrate together, often with increased security because of continuing threats. This is a time to pray not only for Jewish communities worldwide, but also for Israelis traveling abroad and for all those who refuse to hide their Jewish or Israeli identity.

Please pray:

  • For God’s protection over Jewish communities around the world, especially as they gather during the High Holy Days, and for Israelis traveling abroad.
  • For Jewish people and Israelis who face hostility because of their identity, that they would have courage and wisdom and would not be intimidated into hiding who they are.
  • For protection over synagogues, Jewish schools, community centers, and other Jewish institutions.
  • For governments and authorities to confront antisemitism seriously and protect Jewish communities and Israelis from threats, violence, and intimidation.
  • That believers around the world would recognize antisemitism, refuse to remain silent in the face of hatred toward the Jewish people, and stand firmly for biblical truth.
  • That during the High Holy Days, Jewish people throughout the world would seek God and that many hearts would be drawn closer to Him.
THE HIGH HOLY DAYS

Beginning with the Feast of Trumpets on the evening of September 11, Israel will enter a significant season of reflection and prayer. The weeks that follow will include the Day of Atonement and the Feast of Tabernacles, as families gather and people throughout Israel reflect on the past year and look toward the year ahead.

This is a meaningful time to pray for the people of Israel. As the sound of the shofar is heard, prayers are offered, and families gather throughout the country, we pray that this season of reflection will draw hearts toward God and His truth.

Please pray:

  • That during the High Holy Days, the people of Israel would seek God and turn their hearts toward Him.
  • That this season of reflection and prayer would cause people to consider their relationship with God and His Word.
  • For God’s protection over the people of Israel throughout the High Holy Days, over families as they travel and gather together, and over synagogues and communities throughout the country.
  • For families gathering together during the appointed times, especially those carrying grief, loss, separation, or the continuing effects of nearly three years of war.
  • For believing Israelis, that God would give them opportunities to share their faith and the hope they have in Yeshua with family members, friends, and others around them.
  • That those seeking forgiveness and reconciliation with God would come to recognize Yeshua as their Messiah.
  • That throughout these biblical appointed times, many hearts in Israel would be drawn closer to the one and only true God.
HFI PRAYER REQUESTS

September is an especially busy month for Hope for Israel. As families across the country prepare for the Feast of Trumpets, our team will be carrying out Operation Hesed, providing grocery vouchers to hundreds of vulnerable Israeli families so they can purchase what they need for the holiday.

At the same time, the beginning of the new school year marks the start of another ministry year for our work with believing youth, soldiers, students, and discharged soldiers. Alongside these ministries, we continue serving families and communities affected by the war, developing our media and advocacy work, and responding to the needs God places before us.

Please pray:

  • For Operation Hesed, that God would provide everything needed to bless hundreds of vulnerable Israeli families during the Feast of Trumpets.
  • For every family receiving assistance, that they would be encouraged and experience God’s provision and care through the practical support they receive.
  • For wisdom, strength, protection, and unity for our team during a particularly busy month of ministry.
  • For the beginning of the new ministry year and for every opportunity God gives us to invest in believing youth, soldiers, students, and discharged soldiers.
  • For wisdom to recognize the needs God places before us and to respond faithfully and effectively.
  • For God’s continued provision of the people, resources, and opportunities needed for the work He has entrusted to Hope for Israel.
  • That everything we do would honor the Lord and reflect His love to the people we serve.
MORAN

Moran will begin September by completing his ministry trip to the United States, where he has been meeting with ministry partners, teaching, and sharing firsthand updates about Israel. He will then return home to Israel and continue carrying the many responsibilities of leading Hope for Israel during an especially busy season of ministry.

September will bring the beginning of a new ministry year, Operation Hesed for the Feast of Trumpets, the High Holy Days, and the continued oversight of Hope for Israel’s many areas of ministry. Please pray that the Lord will give Moran wisdom, strength, and discernment as he balances these responsibilities and continues leading the team through a demanding season.

Moran continues to write important updates on the situation in Israel twice each week, along with the weekly Word from Moran Scripture commentary. He also actively advocates for Israel through Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. As misinformation and hostility toward Israel continue to grow, this ministry remains an important way to help believers understand what is happening in Israel and what God’s Word teaches concerning His plans and purposes for Israel.

Please continue to pray for:

  • Safe travels and good health as Moran completes his ministry trip to the United States and returns home to Israel.
  • Protection over Moran and his family, especially while he is traveling abroad.
  • Renewed strength and wisdom as he returns home and continues carrying the many responsibilities of leading Hope for Israel.
  • Wisdom and discernment as he oversees the ministry, leads the team, and makes decisions concerning the months ahead.
  • God’s guidance and inspiration as he writes the weekly Word from Moran Scripture commentaries, Israel updates, and produces videos advocating for Israel.
  • Protection, wisdom, and discernment as he continues speaking biblical truth about Israel in an increasingly hostile environment.
HFI STAFF & BOARD MEMBERS

As we enter September, our team is moving into a particularly active season of ministry. We are grateful for our staff, volunteers, and board members who faithfully invest their time, gifts, and hearts in the work God has entrusted to Hope for Israel.

Please pray:

  • For renewed strength, wisdom, protection, and unity for every staff member, volunteer, and board member as we enter this busy season of ministry.
  • For wisdom as our team balances the many responsibilities surrounding Operation Hesed, the beginning of the new ministry year, and our ongoing ministry projects.
  • That God would provide the right full-time counselor for our NerYah Youth and Believing Soldiers ministries to help care for the emotional and spiritual needs of the young people we serve.
  • For protection, encouragement, and strength for the families of our staff and board members as they support those serving in the ministry.
  • For wisdom, unity, and discernment for our board as they make important decisions concerning the ministry and its future.
  • For Bill Katz, our U.S. representative, that God would continue strengthening him and opening doors for fruitful ministry as he faithfully serves Hope for Israel.
THREEFOLD VISION FOR EMPOWERING THE FUTURE GENERATION OF BELIEVERS

NerYah - Believing Youth Group

As a new school and ministry year begins, our NerYah youth are returning to their regular routines, friendships, studies, and activities. This is an important time for our team to reconnect with them, continue investing in their spiritual growth, and provide a safe environment where they can build meaningful relationships with other believing young people.

We are also seeking new leaders to join the NerYah team as we begin the new ministry year. At the same time, the increase in violence among young people in Israel reminds us of the importance of praying for the protection, wisdom, and spiritual strength of the youth God has entrusted to us.

Please pray:

  • For strong and healthy relationships among the youth, with openness, fellowship, encouragement, and a desire to strengthen one another in their faith.
  • That God would provide the right new leaders for NerYah, people with loving hearts, responsibility, wisdom, and a genuine desire to invest in and disciple the next generation.
  • For God’s protection over our youth amid the increase in violence among young people in Israel, and that He would give them wisdom to recognize dangerous situations, resist negative peer pressure, and know when to walk away or ask for help.
  • That our youth would choose peace, respect, patience, and love even when they encounter anger, conflict, or pressure from those around them.
  • For wisdom and sensitivity for our NerYah leaders and the parents of our youth, that they would recognize when a young person is struggling and know how to provide the support and encouragement they need.
  • That throughout the new school and ministry year, our youth would continue growing in their relationship with God and become strong young believers who reflect His love to those around them.

Believing Soldiers

After nearly three years of war, many soldiers and reservists continue carrying the physical, emotional, and spiritual weight of prolonged service. Some are dealing with anxiety and uncertainty about what lies ahead, while others are processing difficult experiences they have witnessed during their service. Repeated periods away from home and the accumulated exhaustion of military service continue to affect both soldiers and their families.

Through our Believing Soldiers ministry, we continue walking alongside young believers during this important season of their lives, encouraging them in their faith and providing a community where they can share what they are experiencing.

Please pray:

  • For believing soldiers who are dealing with fear, stress, or uncertainty, that God would strengthen their hearts, give them His peace, and help them remain steady even in difficult circumstances.
  • For those who have witnessed or experienced difficult events during their service, that God would guard their hearts and minds and provide the right people to help them process what they have experienced.
  • For soldiers struggling with exhaustion after prolonged or repeated periods of service, that God would continually renew their strength and help them persevere.
  • That believing soldiers would remain close to God even during demanding periods when there is little time or opportunity to stop and pray, and that they would experience His presence wherever they serve.
  • For reservists and their families as they continue carrying the burdens of prolonged military service and repeated separation from one another.
  • That God would continue opening doors for Hope for Israel to encourage, disciple, and support believing soldiers throughout the country.

Believing University Students/Discharged Soldiers

As students prepare for the coming academic year, many are balancing studies, work, family, relationships, and other responsibilities. For recently discharged soldiers, this season can also bring significant decisions as they adjust to civilian life and consider university studies, careers, travel, and what comes next.

Through our Growing Together ministry, we continue investing in believing students and discharged soldiers, providing fellowship, discipleship, and encouragement as they navigate this important season of their lives.

Please pray:

  • For students facing academic pressures, exams, and demanding schedules, that God would give them wisdom, focus, peace, and strength to manage their responsibilities well.
  • For students balancing studies, work, family, relationships, and other commitments, that God would give them wisdom to manage their time, set healthy priorities, and find needed rest.
  • That believing students and discharged soldiers would remain close to God during busy seasons and continue growing in a genuine, deep relationship with Him.
  • For those experiencing questions, doubts, or spiritual distance, that God would draw them back to Him and renew their faith and hope.
  • For recently discharged soldiers adjusting to civilian life, that God would give them direction, patience, and wisdom as they consider their future.
  • For wisdom and direction for our Growing Together team as we prepare for the new ministry year and continue discipling and encouraging believing students and discharged soldiers across Israel.
MEDIA MINISTRY

As misinformation, antisemitism, and hostility toward Israel continue to grow, our commitment to communicating truth clearly and responsibly remains vital. Through articles, videos, social media, Israel updates, and other media projects, we seek to equip believers worldwide with accurate information and a biblical understanding of Israel and God’s continuing plans and purposes for His people. We are grateful for the opportunities God continues to provide to reach and encourage people around the world through these platforms.

Please pray:

  • For wisdom, discernment, and creativity as our media team produces content that informs, encourages, and equips believers around the world.
  • That God would help us communicate truth with accuracy, integrity, grace, and courage, especially when addressing difficult or controversial issues.
  • That believers would be willing to look beyond headlines and misinformation and seek a biblical understanding of Israel and God's continuing plans and purposes for His people.
  • That God would raise up more believers who are willing to stand for biblical truth and become effective voices for Israel within their congregations, communities, and spheres of influence.
  • For the right person to join our media ministry and strengthen our ability to communicate effectively across multiple platforms.
  • For spiritual protection, wisdom, and strength for everyone serving in the media ministry and for their families.
  • For the successful development and launch of our new website, that it would become an effective tool for ministry and help us reach and equip even more people around the world.
MINISTRY FINANCES

We remain deeply grateful for God’s faithful provision through those who prayerfully and financially partner with Hope for Israel. The opportunities before us continue to grow. Operation Hesed, our work with the next generation of believers, our restoration projects, humanitarian assistance, media ministry, and the daily work of Hope for Israel all require continued wisdom and provision.

We are committed to faithfully stewarding every resource God entrusts to us and to using those resources where they can have a meaningful and lasting impact on the people of Israel.

Please pray:

  • For God’s continued provision for Operation Hesed and the many other ministry needs and opportunities before us.
  • For wisdom and discernment as we steward every financial resource entrusted to Hope for Israel.
  • For God’s provision as we continue investing in believing youth, soldiers, students, and discharged soldiers.
  • For the resources needed to continue our humanitarian and restoration work with families and communities affected by the war.
  • For new ministry partners who share our heart for Israel and desire to invest in the work God is doing through Hope for Israel.
COMMUNITY RESTORATION INITIATIVE

Hope for Israel continues standing alongside communities affected by the war as families rebuild their lives and look toward the future. Through Operation Restoration and Operation Doors of Hope, we are continuing to help families and communities take meaningful steps toward recovery and rebuilding.

These projects represent the largest restoration initiatives in the history of Hope for Israel. Beyond the practical work, our desire is to stand with people as they return home, rebuild their lives, and restore the communities that have endured so much over the past nearly three years.

Please pray:

  • For God’s continued provision for Operation Restoration and Operation Doors of Hope as both projects move forward.
  • For wisdom and discernment as we work alongside local leaders, families, and communities and determine how we can best serve their needs.
  • For families returning to their communities and rebuilding their lives, that they would experience healing, renewed hope, strength, and encouragement.
  • For families who are still unable to return home or whose lives remain deeply affected by the war, that God would provide for their needs and give them strength during this prolonged season.
  • For wisdom, protection, and strength for everyone involved in the planning, logistics, construction, counseling, and other aspects of these restoration projects.
  • That through these projects, families and communities would experience not only practical restoration but also encouragement and hope for the future.
Tours

Our tours provide a unique opportunity for people to experience the land of the Bible firsthand, meet the people of Israel, and deepen their understanding of God’s Word and His promises. They also allow participants to see the realities of life in Israel and experience firsthand some of the communities and ministry work they have been praying for and supporting.

We are currently preparing for our Israel Solidarity Tour in December 2026 and our Experience Israel Tour in April 2027. We look forward to welcoming participants to Israel and sharing the land, its people, and the work of Hope for Israel with them.

Please pray:

  • For wisdom and God’s guidance as we prepare for the Israel Solidarity Tour, December 10–21, 2026, and the Experience Israel Tour, April 7–18, 2027.
  • That God would bring the right participants for each tour and remove any obstacles that may prevent people from coming to Israel.
  • That each tour would deepen participants’ understanding of God’s Word, His promises, and the people and land of Israel.
  • That our tours would continue to be an effective part of Hope for Israel’s ministry and provide opportunities to strengthen our work among the people of Israel.

Thank you for faithfully standing with the people of Israel through your prayers and partnership. As we enter the High Holy Days, we are especially grateful to know that believers around the world are joining us in prayer for Israel, for the peace of Jerusalem, and for God’s purposes to be accomplished among His people and throughout this land.

May the Lord richly bless you and your family during this season as together we continue serving Him and seeking His purposes for Israel.

IN HIS SERVICE,
THE HOPE FOR ISRAEL PRAYER TEAM
