Shalom and blessings from Jerusalem!
As Rosh Hashanah (the Feast of Trumpets) approaches on September 11, 2026, families across Israel are preparing to welcome the Jewish New Year. As one of God's appointed times for the people of Israel, it is a season of reflection, hope, renewal, and prayers for peace and blessing. Yet for thousands of Israeli families, years of war, economic hardship, and ongoing uncertainty continue to make it difficult to celebrate the New Year with dignity.
Through Operation Hessed, Hope for Israel provides grocery vouchers to families across Israel, helping place food on holiday tables and reminding each family that they are not forgotten.
This year, every grocery voucher distributed through Operation Hessed will be given in memory of David, a young Israeli soldier who received one of our grocery vouchers shortly before the October 7, 2023 terrorist attack. David carefully placed the voucher in the pocket of his military uniform, saving it to bring home to his family the next time he was on leave. Tragically, he was murdered while defending his country during the Hamas terrorist attack that day and never had the opportunity to bring the voucher home to his family.
Although we cannot change David's story, we can honor his memory by extending to other families the same care and practical support that he himself received.
Your gift will help a family celebrate Rosh Hashanah with dignity:
• $75 provides grocery vouchers for a lone soldier serving far from home.
• $100 helps provide a holiday meal for a family of four.
• $125 assists a single-parent household preparing to celebrate the New Year.
• $150 helps a larger family of five or more gather around a full holiday table with dignity.
As families across Israel celebrate Feast of Trumpets, your generosity can help ensure that another table is filled, another burden is eased, and another family is reminded that they have not been forgotten.
Thank you for faithfully standing with the people of Israel. Through your partnership, together we can demonstrate God's love through practical acts of compassion, bringing hope to families across Israel during this special season.
With gratitude,
The Hope for Israel Team
