Dear Hope for Israel Family,
There are moments in life when you have the great privilege to see a dream become reality. On Friday, November 7th, I had one of those moments during a gathering with our students.
To see these young men and women, many of whom I have known since their teenage years in the NerYah youth group, through their time serving in the army, and now stepping into their roles as the future leaders of this nation, was truly moving.
What became evident during our meeting was the deep weariness they carry after a long and difficult two years of war. My team asked me to share about “Consistency and Strength to Continue in the Reality of the Day.” It was a meaningful and emotional time together, and afterward, I received a testimony that deeply touched my heart. I’d like to share it with you:
“Shalom, My name is J.L. I am a medical laboratory student, married, and a mother to a 9-month-old baby. I grew up with Hope for Israel. I started in the NerYah youth group, continued with the soldiers’ group, and today I’m part of the students’ group.
On Friday, we had our opening gathering for the new year. It was a time to connect, enjoy a wonderful meal, hear a message from Moran, and receive an explanation from Tigist about the scholarship for the coming year.
I want to take a moment to talk about Moran’s message because it touched me personally. Among other things, he spoke about recognizing and dealing with difficulties in life. He shared about his personal life and what he has been going through for some time now, and it moved me deeply. Day after day, he chooses to get up and face life, including the loss of his heroic nephew who fought in Gaza, and the trauma that he recently realized he has been living with for years, and yet he still comes to work and gives his all so that I, and so many others like me, can study and do it with a bit more peace of mind.
He shared all this not only to let us into what he’s going through, but also to tell us that he couldn’t have done it alone, that we all need a support system. He explained how Hope for Israel is that support system for us and encouraged us to be open and honest with the team so that we don’t go through life’s challenges alone.
This scholarship not only gives us financial help; it also provides a source of support, inspiration, strength, and encouragement. It amazes me to think that there are people who care about us so much, not only the staff themselves, but also all the donors who give of themselves for our sake, so that our lives can be fuller. So, thank you, thank you so much. It is so far from being taken for granted and is deeply appreciated.”
You are a significant part of this dream coming to fruition! Thank you for entrusting your offering to Hope for Israel. Your partnership means a great deal to me, my team, and the many people who are blessed by the ministry’s work. We really could not do this work without you.
