Operation Hessed: A Time for Compassion Amidst Crisis

Shalom and blessings from Jerusalem,

In a land where the sounds of war have echoed for nearly two years, the table is set for Rosh Hashanah but for too many, it will remain empty. The devastation, heartache, and displacement have left thousands struggling to meet even the most basic needs. Families continue to pray for the safe return of the hostages, enduring nearly two years of anguish.

With Rosh Hashanah just weeks away, a season of renewal, reflection, and hope, many in Israel face a holiday clouded by loss, uncertainty, and financial hardship. For those who have lost their homes, livelihoods, or loved ones, celebration feels out of reach. Without our help, their tables may stay bare.

This is where Operation Hessed steps in. What began as a bi-annual effort to provide dignity and sustenance to Israel’s most vulnerable has grown in response to the overwhelming needs of this war. Our goal is simple: ensure no family is left without during these meaningful days.

By providing grocery vouchers to families, single-parent households, bereaved families, and lone soldiers, we offer more than food , we restore dignity, solidarity, and hope. These vouchers allow them to prepare holiday meals, gather with loved ones, and experience the warmth and unity that Rosh Hashanah brings.

This year, our goal is to bless 500 families.

Here is how you can make a difference:

$75  Bless a lone soldier who has given everything to protect our land.
$100  Provide food for a family of four, offering them a holiday meal and a sense of normalcy.
$125  Feed a single-parent family, ensuring they too can celebrate in dignity.
$150  Support a larger family of five or more, giving them the gift of sustenance and hope.

The holiday is near. Together, we can be a light in the darkness, turning the pain of loss into a celebration of love, hope, and renewal.

Thank you for standing with the people of Israel in this critical time. Your compassion makes the difference.

With gratitude,
The Hope for Israel Team
