Overcrowding on Israel’s roads are the worst in the developed world according to the most recent reports—more than three times the Western average. Between 2009 and 2017, Israel recorded a 24.9% increase in private cars on the road despite heavy investment in public transportation infrastructure. One major issue with the crowding of Israel’s roadways is that the accidents caused and the time cost for those stuck on the roads is draining the economy of Israel and costing lives and safety on the roads.
