Shalom and greetings from Jerusalem!
I am happy to report that it has been a strong year of youth discipleship, led by David and Tziyon, our NerYah coordinators. We also welcomed Zechariah, who will be replacing David as the male coordinator. They just wrapped up the 2018/19 school year program, and are looking ahead to an engaging summer program!
The NerYah youth group is the first part of our discipleship program, aimed at strengthening high school aged youth in their walk with the LORD. Israel can be a hostile place for young believers in Messiah, but we wholeheartedly believe that it is possible to honor Him despite the pressures to deny Him! The weekly meetings provide a safe space for our youth to fellowship, worship, and grow in their walk while receiving encouragement in specific issues that they face as young believers.
This year, we had on average between 40–50 youth from different congregations in the Jerusalem area regularly attend weekly meetings, and more came during the special events. We just treated the youth group to an end-of-year BBQ in a fun location, which included activities, a time of fellowship, and of course, good food! I am really encouraged to see how the youth grew this year, and stood in the face of some tough challenges.
Thank you for supporting our ministry and the youth discipleship program! The support and encouragement we are able to give to young Israeli believers is truly making a difference in the future of this country. Our coordinators are already starting to plan the 2019/20 academic program, and I am grateful that you have partnered with us in this endeavor. May the LORD continue to strengthen this partnership, and may you know His abundant blessing in your lives!
