Palestinian public furious over 67% pay raise for ministers

While a large percentage of the Arab Palestinian public live at or below the poverty line, the PA secretly granted a generous pay raise to its ministers. The public expressed outrage over this, especially since it proves what many people have long suspected – the PA leadership is corrupt. “The cabinet members behaved as if the government is their private shop and they can take as much as they want without being held accountable,” said political commentator Ehab Jareri. Unemployment in the Palestinian territories is near 20%, and a typical salary for those who do work, such as civil servants, is roughly $700 to $1,000 a month. Please pray for economic advancement of the Arab Palestinian people, and for their corrupt leadership to be held responsible for their actions.
