Over 30% of Palestinians support a “one state solution”, according to a recent poll conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (PSR). This would mean one state of 14 million Jewish and Palestinian citizens, and would include all of Israel, Judea & Samaria, and Gaza. Three months ago, only 24% of Palestinians supported such a state. So what accounts for the increased popularity? Ashraf al-Ajrami, PLO member and former minister of prisoner affairs for the Palestinian Authority, attributes the rise in support to uncertainty about the viability of a two-state solution.“I think Palestinians support the one-state solution because of their disappointment in the current situation. People don’t believe there is a situation in which the Israeli government will negotiate for a two-state solution.” Please pray for wisdom for Israeli governing officials as they must find fresh solutions to this age-old issue. Please also pray that a new generation of both Israelis and Palestinians will seek innovative ways to meet each other halfway. Lastly, please continue to pray for the safety & success of both Israeli & Palestinians peacemakers.
