To date, some 42,000 migrant workers have worked in Israel. Although this is a small number with reference to the overall population of Israel, their help is greatly valued in Israel. Most of the migrant workers work in Israel’s agricultural sector, although others help with the elderly and still others with projects such as construction projects. Thailand, China, Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Philippines and several Eastern European countries have deals with Israel that allow their citizens to work in Israel as migrant workers. This past year saw a number of complaints from migrant workers in the construction industry, especially with regards to safety standards. Please pray for all of Israel’s migrant workers, that they will have only good things to say about Israel when they return to their home country. Also, join us in praying specifically for the safety of those working jobs such as construction jobs, that they would not feel in danger as they complete the work of their jobs.
