In addition to the threat against human life caused by the fire kites, balloons and even fire toting animals sent into Israel by Hamas, the damage to wildlife in southern Israel is substantial. About 8,000 acres of land in southern Israel have now been burned by the arson amounting to $4 million in damage to nature reserves alone and what will amount to about $5 million needed for efforts to keep the ecosystem from collapsing in the region. Please pray both for the restoration of southern Israel from the damages caused by the fires and for resumption of negotiations so that Gazans will have something better to do than arson. A great deal of effort is going into addressing the unique challenges facing Gaza, but these challenges can not be overcome so long as Hamas continues to run rampant in the strip.
