Combating Racism in Israel

One of the things we remember when we read the book of Esther is how anti-Semitism, a form of racism, nearly wiped out the Jewish people. An entire people group were in danger for their lives because of one man’s hate for someone of a certain ethnic group (Haman’s hatred of Mordecai the Jew). A recent report in Israel shows a threefold increase in reports of racism in Israel in the past year (perhaps due to an increased number of demonstrations by a variety of ethnic groups in which police response was perceived as racist). Regardless for the reason the reports were submitted it is important that we pray for utmost righteousness in Israel. Please join us in praying that there will be no place for racism in Israel today and that the police and government officials will be especially active in implementing policies that prevent racism from getting a foothold in this nation.
