Dear Family, Shalom.

We have decided to devote this edition of the Hope for Israel newsletter to one of the greatest fulfillments of biblical propheci in our time: the rebirth of the State of Israel on May 14th, 1948. This year Israel is celebrating 60 years since David Ben Gurion declared Israel's independence. It was and still is a miracle. However, Israel's fight for survival has never stopped and will not stop until all Israel repents and acknowledges her Messiah.

"I will return again to me place till they acknowledge their offense. Then they will seek My face; In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me." - Hosea 5:15.

Today we are living in very exciting times. Now only have the people of Israel been restored to their ancient homeland, but we also are seeing the children of Israel return to Him in greater numbers than ever before. There are certainly parallels between the physical and spiritual rebirth of Israel; just as no one could stop the establishment of the State of Israel, no one will be able to stop the people of Israel returning to God through the Messiah. And, just as there continues to be great resistance to the physical presence of Israel, there is great resistance to the presence of Jewish believers in the Messiah. We know that God has a plan and a purpose for both, and there is no power above or below that wil be able to stop it.

Brothers and Sisters, the days of Zachariah 12:10 hae begun:

"I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn."

It is a great privilege to be living in this generation, but with that privilege comes responsibility. The times that stand before us require us to be whole-hearted followers of God who will stand for the whole council of His truth. An important part of God's truth concerns the children of Israel; that is, God has never deserted or forsaken us, and His desire is for us to return to Him. As followers of the Messiah here in Israel, we have a great task in front of us. It was from Jerusalem that the gospel first went forth. Now, nearly two-thousand years later, as the gospel has nearly reached all the ends of the earth, it is our burden to bring it back to Jerusalem. I would like to invite you to join us in bringing the light of the Messiah back to the people of Israel, remembering that God has promised great blessings for all the nations of the earth if Israel believes (Romans 11:15).

May God bless all of you.
