Peace Talks—Netanyahu says he hopes to finds in Abbas as brave a partner as "Begin found in Sadat" as peace negotiations are set to begin on Sep. 2nd. Netanyahu hopes for a significant arms package from the US as compensation for security losses from a potential withdrawal from almost all the West Bank to ensure Israel won't be met by the firing of hundreds of rockets, as was the case when Israel left the Gaza Strip & Lebanon. Please pray the Lord strengthens Netanyahu to stand against pressure to make dangerous or unbiblical land concessions, that the Lord will grant him & his advisors divine wisdom, & that the fear of the Lord will be upon the American mediators. Gilad Shalit Turns 24 in Captivity—After 5 years of imprisonment by Hamas in Gaza, the IDF soldier turns 24, and many marked the occasion at a rally in Jerusalem with Gilad's parents. Israel has been unsuccessful in securing Gilad's release through mediation with the Hamas government. Please pray for the speedy & unconditional release of Gilad, that the Lord comforts & strengthens him & his family, that God grant Gilad favor with his captors, & the Lord grant him a revelation of salvation in Yeshua while in prison.
